I have several patients that come in to my office for chiropractic care and are usually being seen for a chronic type condition. Be it low back pain, neck pain, headaches, shoulder, hip, knee or foot pain, I have seen and treated it all. For the most part chiropractic care can provide the needed treatment to not only decrease the pain but also to correct the issue. However, there are times that due to increased tissue damage or degenerative conditions chiropractic care may only provide a small amount of pain relief. Prolotherapy is a relatively new nonsurgical procedure that uses your own cells to help heal your body. This procedure has been shown to help with cell proliferation (also known as regeneration) especially after surgery and even in some degenerative type of tissues and bones.

There are several forms of prolotherapy that range from using dextrose, platelet rich plasma and even currently the use of biocellular prolotherapy. The goal for any form of prolotherapy is to help the injured soft tissue and even bone regenerate quicker and more effectively. This therapy can be used as an added bonus to chiropractic care. While chiropractic care will focus on allow better movement of the joints and relieve pressure put on nerves, prolotherapy can be used to help then regenerate those soft tissues that have been injured.  You can find out more about this subject at www.ApexMedicalAZ.com.
